What’s up with these celebrities and athletes weighing in on police shootings and buying the narrative that police are out killing black people just because they’re black? For example, LeBron James has been very vocal about the Black Lives Matter movement.

This year, James did not win the Most Valuable Player award, and he gave a thoughtful response, saying voters may have embraced a “narrative” instead of “really watching the game of basketball.”

Why didn’t he use this type of analysis to study police interactions with black people?
