In a video below, while appearing on VladTV, former NBA player Gilbert Arenas put forward his theory suggesting that NBA players from the 80s and 90s might have been using steroids.

He pointed out that the testing protocols during that period were less stringent, with only one annual test conducted on October 1st, providing a significant window for potential steroid use.

Arenas speculated that because many players from that era experienced balding by the age of 25 and had few recorded injuries despite playing full seasons with limited medical support, steroid usage could have been widespread.

He noted the prevalence of the steroid crisis in various sports during the 80s and 90s but remarked on the apparent lack of impact on the NBA.

Arenas emphasized the NBA’s adoption of stricter testing measures in the modern era, implying that players from his generation are cleaner.

Arenas concluded by refuting current claims of LeBron James using steroids, citing the FBI’s clearance of LeBron from such allegations.
