The Knicks selected him with the first pick of the 1985 NBA Draft and he spent the first 15 years of his career with New York.

The Knicks will show replays of some of Ewing’s greatest games with the team. He helped them reach the NBA Finals twice, in 1994 and 1999. He had plenty of clutch plays on both ends of the court in the postseason.

He averaged 22.8 points, 10.4 rebounds and 2.7 blocks in 1,039 regular season games with New York. He averaged 20.6 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.2 blocks in 135 postseason games with the Knicks.

Ewing is the franchise’s all-time leader in points, rebounds, blocks and games played in both the regular season and postseason. He is also the franchise’s leader in regular season steals.

His number, 33, was retired by the Knicks on February 28, 2003. He is New York’s last player to have his number retired by the team.
