Embiid, 76ers overcome the Nets in 112-104 OT thriller

Detroit News

Joel Embiid, who recently stated that he is not enjoying the game as much as the previous years, found his old form against the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday night. He finished the game with a season-high 39 points and 19 rebounds.

The 76ers, who were playing without their starting point guard Ben Simmons (lower back tightness), improved at a staggering 26-2 at home. For the victors, Tobias Harris had 22 points and 12 rebounds, and Alec Burks added 19 including a couple of big buckets in OT.

For the Nets, who will miss Kyrie Irving for the rest of the season (right shoulder injury), Caris LeVert scored 25 points and Spencer Dinwiddie 22.

After the game, Dinwiddie praised Embiid by saying: “Obviously, Embiid is one of, if not the best center of the league. He does his job on both ends of the floor. And tonight, he did his job and got his team a win.”
