Detroit Pistons guard Reggie Jackson has agreed to a contract buyout and plans to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers upon clearing waivers.

Jackson will give the Clippers second unit a starting-level player, as well as another scorer and playmaker.

The Los Angeles Lakers had hoped to sign Jackson too, as the Clippers have now emerged from the buyout market with the most talented player available, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Clippers emerged as the likely suitor for Jackson a couple weeks ago.

Jackson has only played 14 games this season after dealing with a stress reaction in his lower back.

In those 14 games, he is averaging 14.9 points and 5.1 assists per game, while shooting 37.8 percent from three-point.
