L.A. Clippers still interested in Big Sofo

ImageAlthough Sofocles Schortsianitis was barred from competing in NBA summer leagues due to FIBA regulations which do not allow players with active contracts to have try outs with NBA clubs, the L.A. Clippers are still following his case.

L.A. Clippers still hold Big Sofo's NBA rights, and although they had proposals to trade him they never gave in and have made it clear that they are still, and will be in the future, following his performances and development through one of their scouts in Europe.

Fabrizio Besnati, their Europe scout stated, from the Greek island of Rhodes, where the U20 European Championship is currently taking place: "I was happy for having Schortsianitis with us in the summer leagues, but unfortunately FIBA and NBA failed to reach an agreement. It is too bad that things turned out this way, but we still hold his rights. It would not be too difficult for Sofocles to join NBA, he is still very young, just 24 years old. He can even join the NBA next season and of course we are kept  updated regarding his performance and progress throught the season."
