Brose Bamberg is the 2019 German Cup winner

In a late thriller in Bamberg, Nikos Zisis made the three-pointer, with 2.4 seconds to go, and Brose defeated ALBA Berlin to win the 2019 German Cup (83-82).

ALBA came close to the victory (80-82), thanks to a 6-16 run, but Zisis stepped up for Brose and made the game-winning shot to help his team claim the trophy for the fifth time.

Tyrese Rice led the winners with a team-high 20 points, as Zisis finished the game with 19 points and eight assists.

Rokas Giedraitis had a game-high 23 points for the losing squad, as Johannes Thiemann posted 17.

Bamberg had control of the game in the first half (20-16) and were in front by seven after the first 20 minutes (44-37). The hosts extended their lead to nine points (63-54), yet ALBA came back and cut the deficit to four early in the fourth quarter (65-61).

Bamberg brought their advantage close to double digits again (74-66), yet the visitors went on a 6-16 run to take the upper hand (80-82). Zisis, though, stood tall and made the three-pointer to seal the deal (83-82).
