Fenerbahce to face Anadolu Efes in the Turkish Cup Final

Fenerbahce will battle rivals Anadolu Efes in the Final of the 2019 Turkish Cup on Sunday (17/02).

In a tough game on Saturday (16/02), Fenerbahce defeated Turk Telekom and advanced to the Final (73-65).

Turk Telekom were down by three, with 15 seconds remaining (68-65), yet Kostas Sloukas made the three-pointer and extended his team’s lead to six points (71-65). Sylven Landesberg missed the three-pointer and Fenerbahce sealed the deal.

Sloukas had 18 points, five assists and four rebounds for the winners, with Melih Mahmutoglu adding 16.

On the other hand, Landesberg (18 points) and Vladimir Stimac (13 points, six rebounds) stood out for the losing squad.

In the other semi-final, Anadolu Efes cruised to an easy victory over Besiktas and advanced to the Final.

Efes led by as many as 26 points (65-39) and never looked back. Although Besiktas attempted to turn things around, they didn’t come closer than six points (76-70) and, consequently, they were eliminated.

Adrien Moerman finished the game with a season-high 29 points, on 12/16 shooting, whereas Erkan Veyseloglu stood out for the losing squad (16 points).
