Fenerbahce defeat Monaco in OT to go up 1-0

Fenerbahce staged a comeback, overcoming a 14-point deficit to snatch a thrilling 95-91 overtime victory against Monaco in Game 1 of their EuroLeague playoff series, seizing a crucial 1-0 lead.

Nigel Hayes-Davis led the charge with 19 points, supported by Nick Calathes’ 17 points and Nathan Sestina’s 16 points.

With the series now tilted in their favor, Fenerbahce aims to extend their advantage in Game 2 on Friday, seeking to capitalize on their momentum and secure a commanding lead over Monaco.

Despite Monaco’s formidable trio of Elie Okobo, Jordan Loyd, and Mike James combining for 51 points, Fenerbahce’s resilience and clutch performance in overtime proved decisive in stealing the home-court advantage.

Monaco, coming off a strong regular season and recent Final Four appearance, faces an uphill battle as they look to bounce back in Game 2 and avoid falling into a deeper hole against Fenerbahce.

In a game of momentum swings, Monaco initially surged to a commanding lead, but Fenerbahce’s determination and sharpshooting from beyond the arc propelled them back into contention, setting the stage for a thrilling overtime finish.
