Real Madrid decimated Panathinaikos

Real Madrid led the game from the opening tip and cruised to an easy victory over Panathinaikos at home (87-68).

The “Whites” started the match on a 16-2 run and closed the first quarter in front by 13 (23-10).

The hosts retained their double-digit lead in the second quarter (43-31), but the visitors reacted and cut the deficit to five (63-58) in the fourth quarter.

Since then, though, the defending champions were dominant on both ends of the floor and outscored their opponents 26-10 to claim an easy win (87-68).

Fabien Causeur led the way for the winners with 14 points, while Facundo Campazzo had 13 points and five assists and Walter Tavares 11 points and seven rebounds.

Keith Langford had a game-high 20 points for the losing squad, with Nick Calathes posting 17 points, five boards and four assists.

Real Madrid earned their third straight win in the EuroLeague and improved to 11-2 and 7-1 at home.

On the other hand, Panathinaikos lost for the fourth time in the last five games and dropped to 6-7. The “Greens” have won only once in six away games (1-5).
