Nick Young blames Pat Riley for Miami Heat’s roster problems

Former NBA guard Nick Young criticized Miami Heat president Pat Riley over the team’s roster construction, arguing that the organization has failed to surround Giannis Antetokounmpo with sufficient talent.

Young believes Miami’s biggest problem is its lack of a reliable starting point guard, questioning the team’s decision to rely on players he considers better suited for supporting roles.

The former NBA champion specifically mentioned Davion Mitchell, suggesting that while the guard can contribute, he should not be expected to lead the Heat’s backcourt as a starter.

“I think that’s Pat Riley’s fault. He got this on the prize bad b**ch mentality. You’re trying to turn liquor store players into superstar players.

“No disrespect to Mitchell, but he’s a good backup guard. I don’t think he’s a starting point guard for the Miami Heat …

“You need that guard. You need to get him [Giannis] some help.”
