Miami Heat guard Davion Mitchell criticized his team’s defensive performance, admitting that the players were not aggressive enough on that end of the court.
Mitchell believes Miami became too focused on scoring and failed to maintain the necessary defensive effort throughout the game.
The guard explained that the team’s confidence in its offensive abilities contributed to a lack of concentration on defense.
“I thought we were being a little bit lazy. We thought we could just outscore them, and I think that was kind of our mindset … we knew we could score anytime we wanted, so we were a little bit lazy, and we can’t do that, especially with a really good team … we were a little lack tonight for sure.”
