Luka Doncic says adrenaline helped him play through illness, injury in Game 5

Luka Doncic played through both illness and knee injury, but they didn’t prevent the Dallas Mavericks superstar from scoring game-high 35 points, along with seven rebounds and ten assists in Game 5 to re-take the series lead against the Los Angeles Clippers.

“Pretty good,” Doncic said when asked how he feels after the game. “I’m not going to lie. I’m just trying not to think of all the injury, the cold. Just trying to go out there and set the tone.”

According to the Slovenian superstar, the adrenaline of a playoff game helped him push through the illness, despite the discomfort that it caused.

“It’s playoffs. When you start the game in the playoffs, it’s a different thing. There’s a lot of adrenaline, a lot of emotion. So just keep going…

“It’s tough. You can’t breathe through the nose. I have to blow my nose every time. But like I said, it’s the adrenaline of the playoff game. It was a big game today. I needed to be locked 100%. It’s adrenaline of playoff game and I like it.”
