Heat defeat Raptors in team effort

The Miami Heat (46-36) defeated the Toronto Raptors (25-57) 118-103 on Sunday night, clinching No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference.

Miami was led by Thomas Bryant and Jaime Jaquez Jr., who each scored 18 points. The Heat’s balanced scoring effort saw contributions from Bam Adebayo (17 points), Tyler Herro (17 points), Jimmy Butler (15 points), Caleb Martin (12 poins), and Delon Wright (11 points).

Gary Trent Jr. led the scoring for Toronto with 18 points. Grdey Dick and Jordan Nwora added 14 points each.

Miami will face the Philadelphia 76ers in the play-in tournament, with the winner securing the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference.

The loser of the Miami-Philadelphia matchup will have another opportunity to secure a playoff spot, facing either the Atlanta Hawks or Chicago Bulls for the No. 8 seed.
