Despite winning nine of their last ten games, the Los Angeles Lakers (45-33) have only managed to climb one spot in the standings, from ninth to tenth place.

With just four regular-season games remaining, the Purple and Gold still cling to hopes of finishing in the top six for a direct playoff berth, trailing the sixth-place Phoenix Suns by a slim 1.5-game margin.

However, Lakers superstar Anthony Davis remains steadfast in his team’s confidence. “We’re very confident in our ballclub,” Davis expressed after an impressive performance in the win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, tallying 22 points, 13 rebounds, 6 blocks, and 3 steals, as reported by Dave McMenamin of ESPN.

“We laugh about, like, ‘Oh, winning nine out of 10,’ and we haven’t went anywhere [in the standings]. So, it’s how good the West is. But we’re confident, very confident in our ballclub and any time we step on the floor,” he added.

As the regular season winds down, every game becomes increasingly vital for the Lakers. Each matchup presents an opportunity to gain ground in the standings and solidify their position heading into the playoffs.
