NBA insider Brian Windhorst added fuel to speculation that Darvin Ham’s days with the Los Angeles Lakers are numbered.
Following the Lakers’ first-round elimination by the defending champions, the Denver Nuggets, reports appeared suggesting that Ham’s position is insecure.
Windhorst thinks that the Purple and Gold will have a new head coach for the 2024-25 season.
“I think next year you’ll see a different head coach for the Los Angeles Lakers. … I think Darvin Ham is an incredible coach. I think he would be better suited for a younger team,” Windhorst said on ESPN’s Get Up.
Under Ham, the Lakers reached the playoffs twice. Both times the team had to go through the Play-In Tournament. Last year, the Purple and Gold advanced to the Western Conference Finals, while this year their playoffs ended in the first round.
