Nikola Jokic erupts for 42 points as Nuggets edge Spurs

Nikola Jokic dominated with 42 points to lead the Denver Nuggets (53-23) to a narrow 110-105 victory over the San Antonio Spurs (18-58) on Tuesday night, reclaiming sole possession of first place in the Western Conference. The two-time MVP also notched 16 rebounds and six assists.

Despite a standout effort from Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama, who tallied 23 points, 15 rebounds, eight assists, and nine blocks, it was Jokic’s exceptional display that ultimately secured the win for Denver.

With the win, the Nuggets moved into the top spot in the West, edging ahead of Oklahoma City in a tightly contested race for playoff positioning.

Aaron Gordon provided support for Jokic with 23 points and seven rebounds, while Michael Porter Jr. contributed 15 points and a career-high 16 rebounds.

Despite missing key players due to injuries, the Spurs put up a resilient fight, with multiple players stepping up to challenge the Nuggets. Malaki Branham contributed 24 points, while Jones recorded a triple-double with 10 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists.
