Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards acknowledges the daunting challenge ahead as his team faces the defending champions, the Denver Nuggets, in the Western Conference semifinals.
After dropping 43 points in Game 1 win, Edwards heaped praise on his opponents, saying that two-time MVP Nikola Jokic is the best player in the NBA.
While the Serbian superstar contributed significantly to the Nuggets in Game 1, notching 32 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists, he was overshadowed by Edwards.
“I lost to these guys last year,” Edwards said postgame, via Angelo Guinhawa of ClutchPoints. “They are the defending champs, they are a hard team to beat. Great team, they got great players. They have the best player in the league in Nikola Jokic. To me they got the best closer in Jamal Murray, the best 3-point shooter in Michael Porter Jr. So it’s tough to beat this team.”
