Los Angeles Lakers point guard D’Angelo Russell recently shared his perspective on being teammates with two basketball legends, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James.

Having begun his career with the Lakers eight years ago, Russell had the privilege of playing alongside Bryant during his rookie season.

Last year, Russell returned to the Lakers, this time joining forces with James, adding another superstar to his list of teammates.

In a recent interview with Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, Russell was asked to compare his experiences playing alongside Bryant and James.

Reflecting on his time with both players, Russell highlighted the differences in their career stages and playing styles.

“I played with Kobe on his way out, and I’m playing with LeBron, who I still think is at the tip of his prime,” Russell explained.

Russell noted LeBron’s continued evolution as a player, emphasizing his ability to excel even as he ages and adapts his game.

Recalling his interactions with Bryant, Russell described how the Lakers legend imparted wisdom to him, even though some of Bryant’s insights were initially difficult to grasp.

“The older I got, the stuff would click, and I’d say, ‘Dang, I remember him saying that,'” Russell remarked.

Russell also shared his admiration for LeBron, highlighting his approachability and willingness to share knowledge.

Growing up as a fan of LeBron, Russell sought guidance from him, similar to how he approached Bryant for advice.

“They both gave me very detailed orientated answers that allowed me to get better,” Russell explained.

With the Lakers aiming to win games and compete for a championship, Russell recognizes the contrasting dynamics between his time with Bryant and his current partnership with LeBron.

“When I was here earlier, we weren’t winning games. Now I’m here playing with LeBron, and we’re trying to win games,” Russell stated.
