Former NBA All-Star Isaiah Thomas recently made his return to the league after being signed by the Phoenix Suns on a 10-day contract, earning praise from teammate Kevin Durant for his unwavering dedication and perseverance.
Following Thomas’ debut with the Suns, Durant expressed his admiration for Thomas’ relentless work ethic, highlighting their longstanding friendship and the inspiring journey Thomas has undertaken throughout his basketball career.
Durant emphasized Thomas’ consistent commitment to improvement, noting the positive impact his presence and dedication have already had on the Suns’ team dynamic.
“Happy for him,” Durant said. “It’s just the nonstop work and something I admire about him been knowing IT since we were 17 years old. And he’s been the same worker since then. And the story that he has, his career that he’s been through has only been inspiring basketball players around the world.
“I’m grateful I get to spend some time with him. Never been around him in this type of setting as a teammate before, but heard nothing but great things. His first couple days he just in the gym working on his game. I love that about him, absolutely love that about him. I think that’s going to rub off on everybody.”
Despite not seeing significant playing time in his debut game (2 minutes), Thomas’ inclusion on the Suns’ roster marks a significant milestone in his NBA comeback journey after almost a two-year absence from the league.
