Rudy Gobert guides Timberwolves to close win over Trail Blazers

Rudy Gobert recorded a double-double with 25 points and 16 rebounds as the Minnesota Timberwolves (43-19) narrowly edged past the Portland Trail Blazers (17-43) 119-114 on Monday night.

Anfernee Simons led the charge for the Trail Blazers with a 34-point performance, supported by Duop Reath’s career-high 26 points.

Anthony Edwards, who started the game on the bench, delivered a clutch performance in the fourth quarter, contributing crucial points down the stretch to seal the victory for the Timberwolves.

Mike Conley, who inked a two-year extension with Minnesota recently, scored 19 points and dished out seven assists.

Despite missing key players, including rookie Scoot Henderson and Deandre Ayton, the Trail Blazers pushed the Timberwolves until the final buzzer.
