Jordan Clarkson came off the bench in spectacular fashion, dropping 38 points to propel the Utah Jazz (28-34) to a 127-115 win over the struggling Washington Wizards (9-52) on Monday night.
Clarkson’s explosive performance secured the victory for the Jazz, who had struggled recently with eight losses in their last nine games.
Collin Sexton provided substantial support with 29 points and seven assists, while John Collins added a double-double with 17 points and 15 rebounds.
The absence of key players Lauri Markkanen and Walker Kessler didn’t hinder the Jazz, as Clarkson stepped up to lead the charge with a remarkable all-around performance, tallying 10 rebounds and seven assists alongside his scoring outburst.
Despite a valiant effort from the Wizards, led by Jordan Poole’s 32 points and Kyle Kuzma’s 23, they faltered in the closing moments, extending their losing streak to a daunting 15 games.
The Wizards initially surged ahead behind Poole’s hot start, leading by as many as 14 points in the first half, but couldn’t sustain their momentum against the Jazz’s resilient comeback efforts.
The Jazz capitalized on their opportunities, staging a remarkable 17-0 run in the first half to turn the tide in their favor, setting the stage for Clarkson’s heroics down the stretch.
