Hornets maintain strong form by defeating Trail Blazers

Continuing their strong streak, the Charlotte Hornets (15-42) secured a convincing 93-80 victory over the struggling Portland Trail Blazers (15-41) on Sunday night.

Nick Richards delivered a standout performance with 21 points and 10 rebounds, leading the Hornets to capitalize on Portland’s dismal 3-point shooting, as the Trail Blazers managed just 3 makes out of 32 attempts from beyond the arc.

Miles Bridges and Brandon Miller provided crucial contributions for Charlotte, adding 18 and 17 points, respectively, while the Hornets showcased their improved form following recent roster changes made before the trade deadline, winning five of six games.

Deandre Ayton stood out for Portland with a double-double performance, registering 26 points and 19 rebounds on efficient shooting, but his efforts weren’t enough to overcome the Hornets’ determined defense.

Jerami Grant chipped in with 15 points for the Trail Blazers, but the team’s overall shooting woes, highlighted by Anfernee Simons’ 4-of-21 shooting, hindered their ability to mount a comeback against Charlotte’s resilient defense.
