Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving orchestrated a thrilling comeback as the Dallas Mavericks (31-23) defeated the Washington Wizards (9-44) 112-104 on Monday night.
Doncic recorded his 10th triple-double of the season with 26 points, 15 assists, and 11 rebounds, while Irving complemented the Slovenian superstar with 26 points of his own, contributing to the Mavericks’ five-game win streak.
After trailing 95-86, Doncic’s return to the court sparked a decisive 17-3 run, propelling Dallas to a remarkable victory over Washington.
Daniel Gafford, recently acquired from the Wizards, made an immediate impact for Dallas with 16 points, 17 rebounds, and five blocks.
Despite Deni Avdija’s 25-point outing and Kyle Kuzma’s 23 points for the Wizards, their efforts weren’t enough to halt their seven-game losing streak.
The Mavericks missed Dereck Lively II and Dante Exum, who were sidelined due to injuries.
