Jason Kidd puts Luka Doncic “in the atmosphere” of Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant

Luka Doncic’s recent historic 73-point performance in a road win against the Atlanta Hawks has once again catapulted him into the spotlight, further solidifying his status as one of the NBA’s brightest stars.

In a recent appearance on Dallas radio station 97.1 The Freak’s “The Downbeat,” Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd, as transcribed by ESPN’s Tim MacMahon, made bold proclamations about the 24-year-old phenom.

Kidd stated that Doncic belongs in the same conversation as basketball legends Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and Kobe Bryant.

Kidd, a Hall of Famer and former teammate of Dirk Nowitzki, asserted, “He’s better than Dirk… He’s in the atmosphere of MJ, the best to ever do it, LeBron, Kobe.”

The coach emphasized the need to appreciate Doncic’s unprecedented accomplishments at such a young age, expressing confidence in the player’s potential.

Drawing comparisons to Nowitzki, Kidd highlighted Doncic’s unique skill set, asserting that he surpasses the capabilities of the Mavericks’ legendary forward. Kidd believes that with the right supporting cast, Doncic has the opportunity to secure multiple championships in the future.

Defying expectations and rewriting records, Doncic is currently averaging an impressive 34.7 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 9.6 assists in 37.5 minutes per game this season.

As Doncic continues to dazzle on the court, the basketball world eagerly watches his journey, wondering if he will indeed join the pantheon of the greatest players in NBA history.
