The NBA has imposed a 25-game suspension on Cavaliers center Tristan Thompson for violating the league’s anti-drug program. Thompson’s positive test results for ibutamoren and SARM LGD-4033, both prohibited substances under the “steroids and performance-enhancing drugs” section of the NBA’s Collective Bargaining Agreement, led to the suspension.

According to the current CBA, a 25-game ban is the standard penalty for a player testing positive for a SPED (steroids and performance-enhancing drugs) without a prior suspension for a similar violation.
