Tristan Thompson returns to Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers are bringing back veteran center Tristan Thompson. According to Chris Fedor, the Cavaliers are in the final stages of sealing a deal with the 32-year-old, marking his return to the team after a three-year absence.

This signing will address the open roster spot the Cavaliers needed to fill before the upcoming season. John Hollinger has reported that Thompson’s contract comes with a partial guarantee.

Thompson, a key contributor during the Cavaliers’ 2016 NBA championship run, last played for the team in 2020. He spent the previous season without a team until joining the Los Angeles Lakers in April, where he made appearances in six playoff games, averaging 1.8 points and 1.7 rebounds in just over five minutes per game.
