The Memphis Grizzlies delivered unfortunate news as Desmond Bane is set to miss a significant chunk of the season due to a Grade 3 left ankle sprain.

Bane sustained the injury during the third quarter of the January 12 game against the Los Angeles Clippers, and the team has confirmed that he will be re-evaluated after a minimum of six weeks.

Teammate Jake LaRavia also faces a setback, diagnosed with a Grade 2 high left ankle sprain during the January 13 game against the New York Knicks. LaRavia is scheduled for re-evaluation in three weeks.

Bane, 25, has been a standout performer this season, averaging career-highs with 24.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.3 assists. His absence is a significant blow to the Grizzlies, especially with Ja Morant already sidelined for the rest of the season due to a shoulder injury.
