Ja Morant does gun shooting celebration after dagger dunk vs. Pelicans

In a nail-biting overtime clash, Ja Morant’s brilliance took center stage once again, guiding the Memphis Grizzlies (10-19) to a thrilling 116-115 win against the New Orleans Pelicans (17-14).

Morant’s standout performance included a decisive alley-oop dunk in overtime, securing the Grizzlies’ victory with a 115-109 lead.

Despite his on-court heroics, Morant’s celebration raised eyebrows, as he opted for a gun shooting gesture.

This choice of celebration harks back to recent events in Morant’s career. In March, an NBA investigation was launched after Morant displayed a gun in an Instagram Live video at a Colorado nightclub.

Following the incident, Morant took a leave of absence from the team, citing the need for resources to address stress, anxiety, and overall well-being.

Upon his return, the NBA suspended Morant for eight games without pay for the nightclub incident. Despite this suspension, Morant faced further disciplinary action for another Instagram Live session where he flashed a gun. This time, the Grizzlies suspended him from all team activities.

In June, Morant received a 25-game suspension, contingent on his completion of a league-sponsored program addressing his actions.

This was his fourth game since returning to action after serving the suspension.
