Collin Sexton and Lauri Markkanen propel Jazz to victory over Knicks

In a dynamic performance, Collin Sexton and Lauri Markkanen led the Utah Jazz (8-16) to a 117-113 triumph over the New York Knicks (13-10).

Sexton, stepping up in the absence of Keyonte George, scored a season-high 26 points, while Markkanen, returning from an eight-game absence due to a strained left hamstring, made a significant impact with 23 points.

Markkanen, on a minutes restriction, demonstrated his versatility, scoring both inside and on the perimeter. In just 25 minutes on the court, he went 7 for 13 from the field, nailed four 3-pointers, and secured eight rebounds.

Talen Horton-Tucker played a pivotal role for Utah, contributing 13 of his 15 points in the fourth quarter, including a crucial 16-0 run that spanned the third and fourth quarters.

Despite Julius Randle’s stellar performance with 32 points and 12 rebounds for the Knicks, the team couldn’t overcome the Jazz’s late-game surge.

Jalen Brunson and Donte Divincenzo added 23 and 20 points, respectively, for the Knicks.
