The New York Knicks and Immanuel Quickley couldn’t agree on a contract extension last offseason. The main reason was that the Knicks’ offer to Quickley didn’t guarantee the full amount.
Quickley was reportedly looking for a deal worth $25 million per season, but there wasn’t a specific dollar figure discussed.
The negotiation didn’t progress much because the Knicks’ offer included a team option for the final season of the extension, something Quickley wasn’t interested in.
As a result, the fourth-year guard is now set for restricted free agency in the upcoming summer.
The Knicks have the option to match any offer Quickley receives, negotiate a new deal themselves, or explore a sign-and-trade arrangement with another team.
