Immanuel Quickley leads Raptors to win over Wizards

Immanuel Quickley scored a season-high 31 points and 13 assists, leading the Toronto Raptors (35-53) to a thrilling 130-122 victory over the Washington Wizards (15-64) on Sunday night.

The Raptors’ triumph handed the Wizards their franchise-worst 64th loss of the season, as both teams have already been eliminated from postseason contention.

Joining Quickley in the scoring barrage was RJ Barrett, who contributed 22 points to the Raptors’ offensive output. Supported by Kelly Olynyk’s 21 points and Gary Trent Jr.’s 20 points, Toronto showcased their depth.

Washington’s Deni Avdija recorded 32 points and 10 rebounds, while Jordan Poole added 29 points and 12 assists, but the Wizards faltered down the stretch. Corey Kispert and Patrick Baldwin also made significant contributions with 21 and 16 points, respectively.

Washington’s struggles were compounded by injuries to key players, including Kyle Kuzma, Marvin Bagley III, and Anthony Gill, further depleting their roster depth. Additionally, Johnny Davis’ early exit due to a left hip contusion added to the Wizards’ woes.

Despite Washington’s resurgence in the second quarter and a strong performance from Poole in the third, the Raptors maintained their composure and held onto their lead heading into the final period.
