Frank Vogel on Devin Booker: “The guy is cold blooded”

In a nail-biting clash, the Phoenix Suns extended their winning streak to seven games with a thrilling 116-113 victory over the New York Knicks, sealed by a clutch 3-pointer from Devin Booker with 1.7 seconds remaining.

Despite missing key players Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal, the Suns displayed resilience, led by Booker’s impressive performance of 28 points and 11 assists, supported by Eric Gordon’s 25 points.

Suns head coach Frank Vogel couldn’t help but marvel at Booker’s late-game heroics, declaring, “It’s Devin Booker, man. The guy is cold-blooded. Big-time shot.”

Vogel highlighted Booker’s exceptional playmaking, especially in the face of persistent double-teams.

“The first half he was getting double-teamed the whole time. He continued to make the right play, he had seven assists at halftime, eleven for the game. Only two turnovers. When you’re getting double-teamed the whole time, it’s almost impossible,” he said.

The coach expressed his admiration for Booker’s clutch factor, emphasizing the joy of being on the winning side of such moments. “I know he’s one of the best clutch players in the world. It’s fun to be on the right side of that,” Vogel remarked with a smile.

Booker’s performance this season has been nothing short of stellar, averaging 29.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 8.6 assists in just 33.5 minutes per game, solidifying his status as a key player for the Suns.
