The Brooklyn Nets star Mikal Bridges experienced a flawless evening as Villanova retired his jersey in a celebration that couldn’t have been more perfect.
Having dedicated four years to Villanova and played a pivotal role in securing two national titles for the Wildcats, Bridges was recognized at halftime during Friday’s game.
The festivities were heightened as Villanova smoothly sailed to a 57-40 victory over Maryland, adding an extra layer of joy to the memorable night.
“Man, real special. I never thought this day will come. I never really thought of it ever happening,” Bridges, 27, told the media before the on-court ceremony.
“But real special just being here four years and everything we accomplished as a team and this whole program. Just blessed, honestly.”
