Mikal Bridges explodes for 38 points as Nets overwhelm Hawks

Mikal Bridges led the charge for the Brooklyn Nets (24-36), scoring 38 points as they secured a commanding 114-102 victory over the Atlanta Hawks (26-34) on Saturday.

Joining Bridges in the scoring frenzy was Cam Johnson, who contributed 23 points to the Nets’ triumph. Dennis Schroder showcased his playmaking skills with 14 points and eight assists, while Nic Claxton dominated the boards with 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Despite a valiant effort from Dejounte Murray, who notched 20 points, 11 assists, and six rebounds for the Hawks, and Saddiq Bey’s 23-point performance, Atlanta struggled to contain Bridges’ offensive onslaught.

The Nets’ victory was fueled by a stellar defensive effort in the second half, as they stifled the Hawks’ offense, limiting them to just 40 points and capitalizing on turnovers to extend their lead.

Despite facing an early deficit, the Nets rallied behind Bridges’ offensive brilliance and a record-setting shooting display in the second quarter, where they tied a franchise record with eight made 3-pointers without a miss.
