Former Utah Jazz teammate Joe Ingles recently shared his forecast for Donovan Mitchell’s future in the NBA, suggesting that the All-Star might find himself donning the New York Knicks jersey at some point.

In a conversation with DJ and PK on 97.5 The KSL Sports Zone, Ingles expressed his thoughts on Mitchell’s potential relocation, underlining the benefits such a move could bring to both the player and the team.

“I think he’ll play for New York one day, whether that’s sooner or later,” Ingles said, per Ben Anderson of KSL Sports. “I think it would be great for New York and I think it would be great for him. Whether or not that actually happens we’ll wait and see.”

In the past, the Knicks were reportedly engaged in discussions with the Jazz regarding a potential trade involving Mitchell. However, no deal materialized, and the player was traded to the Cavaliers.

Former Knicks general manager Scott Perry recently disclosed the team’s perspective during the trade talks, stating that the Knicks didn’t view Mitchell as the singular force capable of single-handedly transforming the team’s performance and fate.
