Lakers guard Austin Reaves disclosed that during his time with Team USA head coach Steve Kerr prohibited him from using his “freeze” celebration on the court.

Kerr cited his prior exposure to the move during the intense Western Conference Semifinals between the Lakers and the Warriors in the previous season.

Reaves amusingly recounted his conversation with Kerr. “He told me, ‘You cannot do that in USA. I’ve seen it too many times in playoffs. I’m sick of seeing it,'” the 25-year-old shooting guard smiled.

On a more serious note, Reaves used the opportunity to pick Kerr’s brain. “We talked about the series and how the series went. Obviously, he’s a great basketball mind, so I wanted to pick his brain. Things he’s seen in the series that we did good, that we didn’t do good.

“I had to kindly remind him that we won a couple of times,” Reaves laughingly said.
