Grant Williams addresses beef with Jayson Tatum’s son Deuce

In the world of professional basketball, relationships among teammates can be quite special, often extending beyond the court. One such unique bond exists between Grant Williams and Deuce Tatum, the young son of NBA star Jayson Tatum.

Williams, who recently made the move to the Dallas Mavericks during this offseason, was questioned about the playful “beef” that is said to exist between him and Deuce.

The 24-year-old power forward, however, clarified that the “beef” isn’t reciprocated from his side.

“It’s not reciprocated,” Williams shared with a smile. “But I would say that Deuce, it’s one of those love-hate things. He’s like my little brother, always. I’ll always be there for him.”

As Deuce continues to grow, Williams has noticed his development, sharing, “It’s funny; he’s getting older now and trying to have conversations. I told him, ‘You’re in kindergarten now. You’re growing up. I won’t be able to see you as you grow up anymore.'”

In a humorous twist, Deuce questioned Williams about his move to the Mavericks, asking if it was because he had started kindergarten. Williams chuckled, saying, “I don’t know if that made me sad.”

Williams reflects on the passage of time, sharing a poignant memory, “I have a video of him on my phone when he was 2 years old in the bubble. It’s weird seeing kids grow up because it means you’re growing up. And as much as he can make it seem like he doesn’t like me, I think he’ll miss me a little bit.”

Williams’ affectionate connection with Deuce is evident, even as the young Tatum playfully roasts him. According to Williams, it’s not just Deuce but also his father, Jayson Tatum, who joins in on the fun.
