Boston Celtics commentator Mike Gorman didn’t hold back in his assessment of former Celtics power forward Grant Williams, labeling him as “annoying” and a “bad locker room guy,” as reported by Jesse Cinquini of ahnfiredigital.com.

Gorman expressed his views, highlighting Williams’ abrasive demeanor and its impact on team dynamics, particularly during his stint with the Dallas Mavericks.

“He was annoying to everybody,” Gorman said. “I think he — I think initially, everybody thought, ‘Oh, isn’t he kind of a wise a–, but he’s kind of cute, and he’s kinda funny.’ And then it just kinda wore thin, and it got thin quickly in Dallas obviously. If you start to take on [Luka] Doncic, you’re not gonna be around for long.”

According to Gorman, Williams’ behavior in Dallas, including engaging in trash talk with star player Luka Doncic during scrimmages, led to a swift departure from the Mavericks.

The commentator also noted that Williams is 8th-10th player on any team, which makes his disposable. Therefore, being bad in locker room doesn’t do him any favors.

Despite joining the Mavericks in a sign-and-trade deal last summer, Williams found himself traded to the Charlotte Hornets before the season’s end.

The incident recounted by Mavericks assistant coach Michael Finley, where Williams’ trash talk fueled Doncic’s dominant performance, serves as a cautionary tale about the consequences of disruptive behavior in the locker room.
