Grant Williams is set to reunite with his former team, the Dallas Mavericks, for the first time since his trade to the Charlotte Hornets.

Williams, who was acquired by the Mavericks from the Boston Celtics in the offseason before being traded again at the deadline, shared his thoughts on facing his former teammates in Dallas.

Reflecting on his time with the Mavericks, Williams expressed appreciation for his brief stint with the team and his continued relationships with his former teammates.

“It’ll be cool,” he said about the upcoming visit. “It’s different because I was there for half of the year compared to Boston when I was there for four. I still have relationships with those guys. It’s going to be cool.

“But it wasn’t like… we didn’t go deep playoff runs and everything else. So it might be a little different feelings-wise. But at the same time, I still have a lot of care for those guys and ant their success. I’m happy to see them really succeed.”

While the Mavericks are gearing up for a playoff run as the fifth seed in the Western Conference, the Hornets find themselves out of playoff contention in the Eastern Conference.
