Jermaine O’Neal expresses disappointment over unretired No. 7 jersey

Former NBA player Jermaine O’Neal has voiced his discontent regarding the Indiana Pacers’ decision not to retire his No. 7 jersey, which is currently worn by Buddy Hield.

O’Neal clarified that his frustration is not directed at Hield but rather at the Pacers’ failure to recognize and celebrate the franchise’s top players, both for their on-court achievements and their contributions off the court.

“I love Buddy and the work that he puts in. My statement has nothing to do with him. It is disappointing to watch teams every year recognize and celebrate the players who have been the franchise’s very best players on and off the court but yet the Pacers don’t. It’s been confusing and disappointing to say the least!” O’Neal wrote on Instagram.
