Free-agent swingman Danny Green has agreed to a one-year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Green spent his last year splitting his stint with both the Memphis Grizzlies and the Cleveland Cavaliers – though he wasn’t able to play much for them upon recovering from both of his ACL and LCL injury. Nevertheless, he went on to tally a 2022-23 season averages of 5.5 points and 1.3 boards for 11 games.

The contract agreement serves as a reunion for both Green and the 76ers after a year of split up. Green notably joined the franchise at the summer of 2020 and spent the next two seasons donning the Philly uniform wherein he averaged 7.8 points, 3.2 boards, 1.4 assists and 39.6 percent three-point shooting across 131 regular season matches.

As pointed out by Wojnarowski, Green has strong ties with both new coach Nick Nurse and reigning league MVP Joel Embiid. Green and Nurse have a significant connection due to their successful title run with the Toronto Raptors back in 2018-19.

While he’s now at 36 years of age already, the addition of Green is still a decent move for Philadelphia to at least cover up the departures of Georges Niang, Shake Milton, and Jaden McDaniels this summer. Green remains noted as one of the most respected veterans and 3-and-D wings who have a championship pedigree.
