Andre Drummond has a lofty consideration for himself and in his career.

Upon guesting on “The Comfortable Pod,” Drummond didn’t hesitate to call himself as the best rebounder ever as a 2020-21 season graphic has shown his No. 1 stand at the rebounding percentage in league history.

Drummond also claimed that in the all-time great centers stand, he has a chance to become a Hall of Fame player.

“I’m the best [rebounder] ever… I think I’ve done great in my career. I have a chance to be a Hall of Fame player due to what I’ve done in my career.

“Actually I’m pretty sure I’m in the Top 20 being in the Hall of Fame.”

Drummond is truly the strongest rebounding machine of his era. Back in his prime and youth days as a star player of the Detroit Pistons, he was able to lead the league in rebounds per game for four times (2016, 2018-2020). To add up, he was also able to obtain two All-Star considerations and an All-NBA selection back in 2015-16.

The 30-year-old has a career average of 12.7 boards, and the 2017-18 served has been a strong testament to his rebounding mastery by averaging a mind-blowing 16.0 rate for 78 matches.

Drummond indeed registered a long, unbelievable stretch to boast his rebounding dominance, but to own the crown of the best ever to do it requires immediate assessment and comparison amongst the other rebounding greats like Dennis Rodman, Bill Russell, and Wilt Chamberlain.

And in terms of his Hall of Fame case, Basketball Reference has indicated that he has 0.019 percent to make it to the enshrinement. As such, It would require him to achieve heightened stardom that is much better to what he showcased back in his Pistons days. Right now, he’s stapled as a backup big for All-Star center Nikola Vucevic in the Chicago Bulls.

Drummond’s confidence in himself has been nothing but commendable given the mental health challenges he fought. But given these recent statements he made, it seems that the he has to make an important reality check.
