Throughout the years, the Turkish National Team has consistently included a player with naturalized citizenship. However, in this instance, Shane Larkin and Scottie Wilbekin will not be contributing to Ergin Ataman’s team.
“The topic of naturalization is something above me,” Turkish national team player Omer Yurtseven said. “It’s a decision made by coaches and executives. But of course, I want everyone to play with national feelings. What matters is representing this place with national pride and winning.”
