76ers secure Javonte Smart with Exhibit 10 deal

The Philadelphia 76ers have added a fresh face to their roster as they sign guard Javonte Smart with an Exhibit 10 deal, according to insights shared by NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski on Twitter/X.

Following his undrafted status in the 2021 NBA draft, Smart’s determination led him to the Miami Heat during the 2021 NBA Summer League. This marked the beginning of his professional basketball journey, with stints across various affiliations and contracts.

He was waived by the Heat before playing a single NBA game. Smart then signed a two-way contract with the Bucks, splitting the 2021-2022 season between Milwaukee and their NBA G League affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd.

During the 2022-2023 season, the 24-year-old Smart played for the Birmingham Squadron in the G League. He averaged 13.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 3.4 assists in 29.1 minutes per game for them.
