Kings re-sign Neemias Queta

The Sacramento Kings have taken a proactive step towards bolstering their roster by re-signing 24-year-old Neemias Queta. The Portuguese big man, who showed promise during his time with the team last year, was a restricted free agent.

Amidst earlier speculation of interest from Partizan Belgrade and the Portland Trail Blazers, the Kings have successfully retained Queta, solidifying their commitment to his growth and development.

Selected in the second round of the 2021 NBA draft as the 39th pick, Queta carved his name in history as the first Portuguese player to make his mark in the NBA. His journey saw him split the 2022-23 season between the league and the Kings’ G League affiliate, the Stockton Kings.

While his NBA appearances were brief, Queta averaged 2.4 points and 2.2 rebounds in just 5.8 minutes per game. However, it was on the G League stage where his skills truly flourished, with impressive stats of 16.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 29 games.
