Mo Bamba signed with the 76ers after becoming an unrestricted free agent this summer. The 25-year-old center was last with the Lakers.
He revealed that it was Joel Embiid who played a key role in convincing him to come to Philadelphia.
“Just recently, he was a huge driving force into me coming to the Sixers,” Bamba said about the reigning MVP, via Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer. “He was like, ‘Listen, this might sound a little crazy, because we’ve been playing against each other so much. But I feel like the Sixers would be a great fit for you.'”
Bamba finished the 2022-23 season averaging 3.7 points and 4.6 rebounds in 9.8 minutes over 9 games for the Lakers.
