NBA announces debut of In-Season Tournament for 2023-24 season

The NBA has officially confirmed the introduction of the In-Season Tournament, set to debut during the 2023-24 season. The league made the announcement, stating that comprehensive details about the tournament will be unveiled on July 8th during a special edition of ESPN’s NBA Today.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver will be joined by notable basketball figures, including past No. 1 overall picks and two-time All-Star Trae Young, to reveal the tournament’s dates, competitive structure, locations, trophy unveiling, and group drawings. The ESPN special will also feature captivating performances from KÀ by Cirque du Soleil and The Jabbawockeez.

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN provided additional insight, revealing that the In-Season Tournament Final Four will take place on December 7th and 9th in Las Vegas. Notably, all statistics accumulated throughout the tournament will be counted towards the league’s regular season, except for the championship game.
