Mo Bamba is a name that has to be kept an eye on at the side of the Chicago Bulls, per Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times in his recent appearance on the 930 The Score’s Bernstein & Holmes Show.

Bamba expressing his desire to be a Bull from the past is a significant factor for a potential scenario of partnership between the big man and the franchise according to Cowley.

“Keep an eye on Mo Bamba,” Cowley said. “This is a guy that’s wanted to come to the Bulls for the last couple years. I don’t know if it was something that was ingrained in him growing up and that’s what he saw across the pond and that’s what he fell in love with, but this is a guy who wants to be a Bull. So keep an eye on him.”

Bamba, who landed in the Los Angeles Lakers last 2022-23 midseason on a four-team trade, has a non-guaranteed $10.3 million salary for 2023-24. The Lakers have until June 29 to decide if they’ll guarantee it. Should not, he’ll hit the market as an unrestricted free agent.

The 25-year-old center only managed to log nine games of appearance for Los Angeles and averaged 3.7 points and 4.6 boards after suffering from his ankle issues. The injury persisted which ultimately hindered him to grasp much exposure to the Lakers’ previous solid playoff campaign that ended up in a Conference Finals finish.
