The Celtics are set to face the 76ers in the Eastern Conference Semifinals after eliminating the Hawks (4-2) in the first round of the playoffs.
Jayson Tatum, who scored 30 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and dished out 7 assists in Game 6 against Atlanta, was asked about Boston’s next opponent.
“Tough battles, tough matchups,” the 25-year-old forward said. “Obviously, there’s a great team with probably going to be the MVP [Joel] Embiid. Looking forward to. This is what the playoffs is about. the best teams, best players going head up.”
Boston (57-25) finished second in the Eastern Conference in the regular season. Philadelphia was right behind with 54 wins and 28 losses.
The Celtics won the regular season series against the Sixers 3-1.
